Background
Ann graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2009 with a BS in Electrical Engineering, and began as a Graduate Research Assistant with MiRCTech inAugust 2009.
Research Interests
- RF/microwave circuit design for tunable/self-healing radars
- Circuit design using gallium nitride technology and the packaging of gallium nitride circuits
- 3D integration using organic substrates
Experience
- Graduate Engineering Intern (Summer 2010) - Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio
- Development of a hybrid single stage low-noise amplifier using a gallium nitride HEMT device on liquid crystal polymer
- Project development for two summer-hire high school students and served as project mentor
- Engineering Intern (Summers 2006-08) - ANADIGICS, WLAN Center of Excellence in Norcross, GA
- Designed a gain block amplifier for use as an input stage of a power amplifier.
- Layout of test cells to debug RFIC power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, and switches.
- Designed automation software to measure static and dynamic EVM, ACPR, P1dB and harmonics of power amplifiers for 802.11a/b/g and WiMAX applications; reduced data collection time by a factor of one-fourth.
- Created test software to measure S-parameters, P1dB, and harmonics using a network analyzer.
- Undergraduate Research Assistant (May-Dec 2008) - Advanced Semiconductor Technology Facility, Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA
- Current-voltage characterization of wide-bandgap solar cells and pn-junction diodes.
