Background

Spyros received his M.Eng degree (First Class with Honors) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London in June 2010. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Nick Battersby Prize for “Excellence in Analog Electronics.” His M.Eng thesis, sponsored by the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), was on the topic of “Wireless Laser Energy Storage and Information Transfer for Autonomous Sensor Nodes in Aircraft.”

Spyros has been a graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology since August 2010 and is currently working towards a Ph.D degree. As of January 2011, he is jointly advised by Prof. John Papapolymerou (MiRCTECH) and Prof. Oliver Brand (Integrated Sensor Systems, iSenSys).
